High School is situated in Curry, Pili, Camarines Sur which is 7.5 kilometers
away from the National Highway and is geographically located at the foot of
Mount Isarog which one of the tourist destinations in the region.
Having the desire to make education accessible to people from Curry, two of the most prominent families in the municipality, namely Clasio and Altamarino, donated the high school site with an area of 20,000 square meters or 2 hectares.
While it is noted that mostly of its students belong to families with average economic stratum, still parents devote efforts to send their children to school. To complement their willingness, the school with its continuing commitment is a replica to serve as an agent of gainful learning outcome as entrenched in the mission and vision of the school.

A Glimpse at Curry High School
Altamarino-Clasio High School, formerly Curry High School is one of the top performing high schools in Pili District. Having an overwhelming total student population of 388 students this school year and has been progressing through the years. For the past 21 years, the school has served as an avenue to students who dream of becoming somebody. To cater such challenging demand of the community, the school employed competent and dedicated teaching professionals with high moral value and reputable work ethics. In addition to its teaching force, the school also have locally-funded teachers who are known to be the best performers in the field of specialization. The school’s best practices are evident in the students’ performance in various facets of learning. For the record, the school ranked 6th and 20th in the Congressional district during the 2009 and 2010 National Achievement Tests, respectively. It has also proven that learning should not only focus in academics, but also in other fields as the school won two consecutive champions in the DLC competition during the 2008 and 2009 Pili Town Fiesta Military Parade. It has, as well, produced participants and winners in various off-campus competitions. It turned out so many graduates who are now working in the government and private offices. Regardless of its distance from the town proper, the school provided students facilities, such as well-lighted classrooms, waterlines, and air conditioned computer laboratory providing quality and practical education to its clients - the students. Altamarino-Clasio High School is now under the stewardship of Mrs. Fe F. Peralta, Secondary School Principal I. There was newly-acquired learning and instructional equipment, improved buildings, and other subsidiary services through her initiative. CURRICULUM The school implements the K-12 Curriculum with eight subject areas such as Filipino, English, Mathematics, Science, Araling Panlipunan, MAPEH, Values Education, and Technology and Livelihood Education. |
COMMUNITY PROFILE Curry is one of the twenty-six barangays in the Municipality of Pili, Province of Camarines Sur. It is geographically located at the foot of Mount Isarog which is one of the tourist destinations in the Region. There have been notable changes happened in the entire barangay. From having humble yet progressive beginnings, Curry has transformed into a better venue for farming and other agricultural livelihoods. Aside from being a better site for agriculture, Curry has also been considered as an unstirred tourist attraction. Its rich and untouched natural resources and beautiful water bodies can be developed, without infuriating nature’s natural beauty, as a source of revenue. Being a barangay situated in the municipality far from the noise and busy lifestyle of the poblacion, Curry is a perfect place for peaceful recreational activities. The remarkable contribution of Curry to the municipality can be traced from the kind of occupation its people have. Most of its inhabitants rely their living in agricultural supplies and products. For the record, 90% of the population is engaged in small farming business like peddling agricultural products while 10% are employed. It can be traced that the observable development of Barangay Curry is due to its dignified and hardworking citizen who incessantly work for the improvement of their locale. At present, Barangay Curry abodes the maintenance office of Pili Water District, a rural health center with an assigned Municipal nurse, and its own parochial church being managed by Reverend Arnel Estrella, as its parish priest. Currently, Barangay Curry, which is composed of seven (7) zones, is headed by Barangay Captain and seven (7) councilors. In order to continue its tradition of providing quality education and health services, the LGU-Barangay appoints Day Care workers who serve pre-school pupils of the barangay. The entire community does experience challenges in meeting the needs of this changing world, but, in spite of this, Barangay Curry is still certain that its inhabitants will be at par with the rest. |
